The dagger turns out to be magical, which brings nothing but trouble to its new owner. Assisted by his best friend Logan, a dragonet, Janepar warriors riding war bulls, Rufin "retrievers of previously stolen goods," Wisewomen, a featherfay, shapechangers, a Cargla giant, and others, Beck battles dark mages, Skullsouls, goblins, Grindee, and ogerhunches.
But does an even greater evil threaten the good folk of Lifthrasir?
